A question that often arises in the minds of aspiring entrepreneurs is whether they should go with one big idea or try many small ideas. To answer this question lets take a look at some of the most successful entrepreneurs of our time and analyze their history.
Looking at this infograph we can learn a lot about the trends of most billionaire entrepreneurs. For starters, out of the 960 self made billionaires in the world 830 of them made their fortune with multiple ideas/businesses.
More importantly, take a look at the timeline of business ventures for the 5 entrepreneurs listed. What is important to notice is that none of these guys instantly made their billions off of their first initial idea. Richard Branson had 9 different business ventures before he founded his billion dollar industry, Virgin Airlines.
So I think the lesson to take from this is to just start somewhere, no matter how small it is. You don’t have to have your billion dollar idea right now, you just need to get out there and start taking the initiative. According to history, chances are your first, second, or third idea won’t even be your bread maker, but without them you may never reach it.
Most successful bloggers do not make it big off their first blog. But it is from this failure that they learn the most and grow.
”Business opportunities are like buses, there’s always another one coming.”
Go out there and run with something, no matter how small it is. It is through this that you will likely find your true calling.
